Paul's "Cave"
The Hubbs has a juicer and a rice cooker that have been sitting on the kitchen table for a while.
Last week, I bought a small kitchen island for the Hubbs from a friend of ours. So the small appliances have been moved to their own island.
But now I'm realizing that I don't know where to put the kitchen table. I pushed it into the corner of my room, and it sits over Paul's bed in my room. (Paul tends to hang out there when I'm cooking or doing laundry.) It took me about 20 minutes to get Paul to go to his bed, and I did it by stretching out on his bed to snuggle with him and give him a bully stick. But now, when I give him any treat, he goes right to his bed and seems to love his new cave.

Wordless Wednesday: From the Dog Mall
I'm looking to do a run of dog cookies with the proceeds going to Kissa-bull. They're almost done rebuilding their house from the fire in December, and Wells Fargo has sent them some paperwork for foreclosure. If you've got a buck or 2 to give, they'd greatly appreciate it. The pics below are just a run of pics from the dog mall.

Nearly Wordless Wednesday: Annie & the Car
When we first met Annie, she didn't like the car. As a matter of fact, I had to lift her up and put her in the car. D, who fostered her, said that she would only hop in the car once Belle and Saddie, her beagle foster siblings, were in the car. Annie's attitude seemed to be, "well, if my friends are there, I guess I should hop in too."
Tonight, when we got home from the dog mall, Annie didn't want to leave the car.....

Storms Part 2
We're presently under a Tornado Warning for the next half hour. I know I've always been told go to the interior room of your house, but just short of a closet, we don't have one. So Annie, Paul, and I are chilling in the bathroom (their least favorite room because they think they're getting a bath). Paul keeps licking the cold tile floor (dear 1979, please tell me you didn't put anything in the tiles that would hurt Paul 30 some years later!) I've got both of them wrapped in their thundershirts (and for dealing with a tornado, I wish I had one of my own). According to the radar, we're only half way through this storm. Some of the thunder has been awfully weird sounding (I can hear it through the pipes of our elevated ranch)
Please excuse the horrible picture, it was taken with Photo Booth on my MacBook Pro. But eh, it works.
What does everyone else do with their pups when they're under sever weather warnings?

Wordless Wednesday on Monday: Carytown Pics
Ok, so Life kind of got in the way this weekend, and I didn't have the chance to write the blog post. So I'll do wordless Wednesday today, and I'll have a blog post that explains the pictures on Wednesday. Friday will finish all of the Carytown stuff with the vet offices that are in Richmond (including the emergency vet and Helping Hands)

Wednesday
A dog I never knew and will never meet has been banished from this Earth. Each day, we hear about BSL. For me, it's as close as Maryland. When we adopted Paul, the SPCA had his paperwork labeled as "All American Mixed Breed." Michael Vick was about to go on trial in Richmond, VA. When we brought him home, his Uncle Chris, who owns and loves his Pittie Xena, commented that we knew there had to be some pit in him. And in spite of this, we always point out on his paperwork each year that he's a mix.
We know that someday we'll move from here. And where ever we move to, we know we have to keep an eye out for BSL's. Dog speed Lennox. And our condolences to you and your family.

Almost Wordless Wednesday
Paul looking at the table he's about to tip over. (It fell on the grass, not him.)
Annie being afraid of the camera (why, I don't know.).
"I is a good boy, Mommy!?" Yes, Paul, you are a good boy.
"Ok Mom, I'll let you take my picture, finally."
